Frida

Charcoal on paper - 75x55 cm (2019)

To me Frida looks a little  bit down and empty. She stares blindly ahead of her, consumed in her own thoughts. She' is not the strong, confident women she usually is. And here I guess my own mood slipped through. Iti s interesting to see how your own mood can influence the outcome of your work.

I hated this work at first because it brought me back to those days. But now I look at it with pride. It still takes me back, but in a completely different manner. Not as a loser, but as a winner. This work is a victory! We all have our personal victories, big or small. So keep your head up, no matter what, better days will always come.
